The Sierra Pacific Synod and Lutheran Social Services of Northern California want to update you on the Park Fire, which has significantly impacted Butte and Tehama counties and triggered immediate evacuation notices in Plumas and Shasta Counties. The fire has burned approximately 427,000 acres and is 35% contained, causing extensive damage and displacing many individuals and families.
The fire remains active and continues to threaten communities.
Damage inspection teams are working to verify damaged or destroyed structures. Cal Fire reports that “Between both counties, there are *636 destroyed structures and *49 damaged structures. *The total number destroyed and damaged includes infrastructure.”
Lutheran Social Services of Northern California is working in collaboration with the Sierra Pacific Synod and the California, Nevada, Hawaii District LCMS to provide relief resources and services to those affected and we are all accepting donations. Your donations can make a significant difference in providing immediate relief and long-term support. Needs will range from the need for housing (immediate or longer term), food assistance, transportation assistance, and essentials for daily living.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps restore hope and rebuild lives.
Please consider sending a check to Trinity Lutheran Church and earmark it on the memo line with “LSS Fire Funds”. All of the monies collected will be forwarded to LSS of Northern California.
